Kansas City, Mo., Oct. 1, 2010, at Kansas City Star

On Oct. 1, 2010, about 25 alumni and friends gathered in downtown Kansas City at the new production facility of the Kansas City Star. Several former and current Star reporters and editors were on hand, as well as grads from the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and ’00s, and alumni involved in broadcast, marketing, public relations and other fields. The special guest was former KC Star and ISU professor Giles Fowler, who spoke about his recently published book, Deaths on Pleasant Street, which is about a 1909 Kansas City murder case. The event was organized by Society co-chair Chris Adams ’88.
