A final reminder about the event Friday, Oct. 1, from 5-7 p.m., at the Kansas City Star production building at 1601 McGee St. in downtown Kansas City. Full details here.

We’ll have a nice gathering – somewhere around 25-30 or so. We’ll have people from newspaper, PR, marketing, and other industries — and graduates from the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and ’00s.

Giles Fowler, a former ISU journalism professor and a former KC Star writer, will be there to give a short talk about his recent book, which chronicled a celebrated KC murder case. Kim McDonough, a program coordinator who runs the Greenlee School’s internship program, will be on hand to represent ISU. Society co-chair Chris Adams will give a very brief talk about the Society of Alumni and Friends. We’ll start the talks around 5:45 or 6 p.m.

Feel free to bring a guest or to tell other ISU alums. We’re happy to have more folks come out (but do shoot us a note on our RSVP address or directly to Chris Adams so we can maintain a decent head count for the caterer). There should be plenty of beer, wine, and food for all.
